Research

Impact Investing Group’s Research teams explore the valuation and investment potential of public companies with a demonstrated focus on ESG initiatives, practices, and operations.

Investment Philosophy and Industry Research

Analyst teams begin the semester by sharpening their acumen in ESG-specific equity research and investment philosophy. Teams conduct initial research focused on a qualitative assessment of their specific industry to develop a market report.

Stock Selection and Initial Analysis

After a qualitative exploration of their industry, analyst teams select a socially and environmentally conscious public company within their respective industry for quantitative analysis. Analysts will apply financial accounting principles to determine the quality of their chosen company.

Stock Valuation

Analysts develop a hands-on, in-depth understanding of valuation methods, such as the discounted cash flow model, to determine the intrinsic value and investment potential of the team’s selected company.

Stock Pitch

Analyst teams then create a presentation of their semester-long research and findings to deliver a stock pitch of their selected company to an Investment Committee of working professionals.
